Betsy and Brian's Wedding and Reception, St. Joe Beach, Florida, 26 August 2000

The wedding was a small, intimate affair. We gathered in a circle on the beach at 9:30 Saturday morning. The weather couldn't have been more perfect (after a line of thunderstorms blew the canopy down the night before). Uncle John Bierley provided a regal processional, as Betsy entered with her parents. Nona Ann Nichols distributed flowers to the assembled friends and family. Participants recited the readings that Brian and Betsy had carefully selected, Glen Nichols provided the rings at just the right moment, and the bride and groom recited their vows. Copious hugging and kissing ensued, to the recessional strains of marches by John Philip Sousa. The officiating body for the ceremony was the Bahá'í Assembly of Ft. Walton Beach. A joyous reception (and mega-feed) followed the wedding at the tastefully decorated Mexico Beach Civic Center. Bouquet throwing took place back on the beach.
