Bill On the North Fork Here I am on our property, dressed for success.

View To the West The view to the west. That line of mountains is Glacier NP and the Continental Divide.

Snazzy Outhouse Our snazzy outhouse.

One of the interesting places in Polebridge -- about three miles south of our place -- is the North Fork Hostel.

North Fork Hostel The main hostel building.

Leika I suppose we have to have at least one dog picture. This is Leika, a Karelian Bear Dog, and one of three dogs in residence at the hostel. John, the fellow who owns the hostel, also has two horses and two mules. I have a really bad photo of them which I am not going to post. Oh, and then there is a barn cat of dubious provenance.

NFH Powerhouse The hostel "powerhouse."

Square Peg North Cabin John has a couple of cabins nearby at the "Square Peg Ranch." We stayed most of the time at this one, the north cabin.

John Frederick Last but not least, your host, John Frederick. He's relaxing up on my place, enjoying a cigar.

Among the other attractions of downtown Polebridge (winter population about 12) is the Northern Lights Saloon, a surprisingly good place to eat. Herewith, an exterior and interior shot. The fellow tending bar is Peter Moore, a local artist.

As well as a pretty decent menu and wine list, the saloon boasts a fair selection of beers, including a popular local brew with the unappetizing name of "Moose Drool." I'm told it is quite good.
