Atlanta . . .

Atlanta! Good grief, what a boom town! The place is growing faster than the kudzu, engulfing the countryside with expensive new housing developments and clusters of shiny office high-rises. Heading south from Chattanooga, once you get past all the billboards advertising carpet outlets, you are, for all practical purposes, in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
I braved all this urban sprawl to see some old friends of mine, NicNic at home and Hadith Harper. Nic, as you can see, is a big Cowboys fan. In fact, he is a serious sports fan in general. Hadith, an inveterate reader, tolerates his eccentricities with good humor. Nic is the sales manager for Nichols Custom Installation and Alarm. Hadith -- I'm probably going to get in trouble here -- is a sort of freelance editor/bookkeeper/office manager, with "editor" being the most important word.
Nic and I talked some business and, as part of that, he gave me the Cook's tour of the northeastern fringes of the Atlanta metroplex -- an eye opening experience. We also swung by a very interesting outfit called Visioneering, run by a fellow named Robert Foah, got some good coffee, played a little pool (played at, in my case) and generally had a good time. Two more kind and gracious people added to my travelogue -- make that three counting Mr. Foah.

I would have liked to stay longer, but I was awfully close to home, so I headed out on the last leg of my trip after an all-too-brief stay.
